The annual conference for the National Council of Teachers of English or NCTE is coming up and I’m presenting!
But what’s more, I’m doing a public event at Newtonville Books while I’m there!
Friday night 11/22 at 6:00 p.m., please join me and my friends and fellow authors Lindsey Pointer and Charlene Allen along with local nonprofit Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ) for a conversation about restorative justice in reality and fiction that we’re calling Beyond Punishment.
Saturday 11/23, I can’t wait to see old friends and meet new ones at the NCTE conference!
At 11:00 a.m., I’ll be signing copies of Wayward Creatures, which won the 2023 NCTE Charlotte Huck Award for Outstanding Literature for Children, and also giving away free paperback copies so please join me at the NESCBWI Booth 133. And at 1:15 p.m. in Room 254 A (Level 2), Charlene, Lindsey, and I will be joined by my friend, Educator Karen Bohmann, to talk about using our books to teach restorative justice principles and sharing strategies and resources.
