Dayna Lorentz is the author of Wayward Creatures and Of a Feather (Clarion Books/HarperCollins Children’s Books), the No Safety in Numbers trilogy (Speak/Penguin Random House), and the Dogs of the Drowned City trilogy (Scholastic).
Wayward Creatures was the winner of the 2023 NCTE Charlotte Huck Award for Outstanding Fiction for Children and has been selected for multiple state award lists. Of a Feather was a finalist for the 2021 New England Book Award for Middle Grade and was a 2023 Magnolia Book Award nominee for Grades 6-8. No Safety in Numbers was selected by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) as a 2013 Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers, and the second book in the trilogy, No Easy Way Out, was a Barnes&Noble Bookseller’s Pick for Teens.
